So that we may begin as soon as possible, please come to class prepared to work.  Below, you will find a list of supplies that you will need:

1.      Black or blue ink pens and/or pencils

2.      White, loose-leaf paper

3.      A three-ring binder at least 2” (3" would be better) and divider pages

4.      A folder with pockets and brads just for your Writing Portfolio

5.      3x5 index cards for vocabulary activities

6.      Hi-liter pen(s)
7.  Flash drive

Just a reminder that you need to have your summer reading complete.  It appears that several of you did not get the summer Reading Assignment from me.  (Hopefully, you picked up your copy from your ninth grade English teacher.)  We will jump right in on Wednesday, August 12 with a slide show of Mark Twain's House!  I just returned from Hartford, Connecticut where I attended the National Humanties Foundation Workshop on Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.  I learned so much that I can share with you soon!  Won't be long now.
